Hampshire U18 14 - 34 Sussex U18

A strong start from Hampshire saw Sussex pinned in their 22 for most of the first 15 mins of the game.

However Hampshire failed to convert the early pressure in to points.

The second part of the first half belonged to Sussex.

Although Hampshire had their fair share of possession the strength of the Sussex midfield proved decisive and they ran in 4 quick trys.

Five mins into the second half Sussex went over again making it 0 – 25.

Hampshire then rallied and 2 mins later a powerful drive from 5 meters out by Ash Chirima put Hampshire on the board.

This was followed 5 mins later with Tom Purnell scoring after constant pressure on the Sussex line.

Both trys were converted by Harry Faulkner.

Sussex finished the game with another try.

Overall it was a strong performance from both sides with Hampshire dominating the scrums and Sussex dominating the lineout.

The final score did not reflect how close the game was however Sussex deserved their win and we wish them all the best in their final game.
