Playing Laws for the Festival
We will aim to play as close as possible to the U12 Age Grade Rugby Laws - click here for rules
·Half pitch
·12-a-side, rolling subs – squads as big as your minibus can hold but please manage the game time of your players
·5 man uncontested scrums – strike only and no No.8
·No lineout
·Unlimited numbers in breakdown
·Drop kick (re)start – conceding team chooses kick or receive at restart
·Kicking in open play permitted (excluding fly-hack)
Please be reminded that the focus for all our festivals is on the children participating having fun, learning and developing their understanding of rugby and we would like them to leave feeling positive about the game.
Our Core Values are at the centre of everything we do (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship) and we ask that you reinforce these throughout the day.
With this in mind the referees will be instructed to work with staff to ensure games do not become too 1-sided.
Any problems or questions please come back to me directly so that we don’t miss anything – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
See you next week!
