Joshua Barlow has been appointed England Rugby Community Rugby Coach for the IOW and will commence work on Wednesday 8th March 2017.

The position received a very strong field of applicants from within UK and overseas and Joshua was the stand out candidate for the role.

Currently Deputy Head of House and Rugby coach at Royal Alexandra and Albert School, Josh is also Director of Rugby and Head Coach toImperial Medicals RUFC.

He has immersed himself in rugby and is currently completing his Level 3 award.

Having completed the RFU Directors of Rugby CPD and also travelled to New Zealand and took part in the IRA Coach Development course Josh has a strong desire to continue to develop himself.

Having coached Loughborough Ladies from 2012-14 these skills will be invaluable to developing girls rugby on the Island.

I know that Josh can’t wait to get started and that he is looking forward to building on the firm foundations laid by Richard Freeman.

It will be my intention for Josh to get out and visit clubs and educational establishments in the early weeks and I will coordinate a cluster meeting towards the latter end of March to share his work program with the clubs.

I am sure Josh will send you all an introduction e-mail before he starts and I am confident that he will be an asset to the Island.

I do hope that you will make Josh welcome and embrace him in to the special Island rugby community.

Kind regards
