Sussex U15 v Hampshire U15

15th January 2017

Sussex hosted Hampshire at Chichester RFC for both County and “A” games.

Although the weather was poor the rugby was not and all four teams gave their all.

This was the first outing for Hampshire and both sides took time to settle in to playing together.

The County side got off to the worst possible start. Knock on at the kick off leading to a scrum leading to a penalty.

Sussex went for a lineout and from it a quick peel around the back produced a try.

The “A” side also conceded an early try and it looked like it was going to be a long day for Hampshire.

Both sides regroup and managed to level the scores before going on to concede again.

The County side then conceded a 3rd try.

At half time The County side was down 19 – 7 and the “A” side was down 14 – 7.

With a few tweaks from the coaches and an increase in intensity from all the players both sides took the fight to Sussex in the second halves.

Both the County side and the “A” side ran in 3 unanswered tries.

This was a good test for both teams in the worst conditions we have had for some time.
