What a fantastic performance this afternoon, you should all be very proud of yourselves! Says U18G team manager Russell Amos.
The style of rugby you played “was mesmerising” a quote directly from the match referee who found it “hard to concentrate” at times as he was watching the Hampshire Girls play some “outstanding rugby!!”
Hampshire raced into a 5 try lead by half time – scores by Sophie Jarrett x 2, Phoebe Percival ; Phoebe Murray and Amy Layzell.
In the second half Hampshire further added to their score with two tries from Bethany Wilcock and one conversion by Phoebe Murray.
Thanks to Sophie Harris, one of our reserves, who was called up at the last minute to join the squad – well played Sophie.
A fantastic performance in the first round (of three) of the county series, and thanks to Basingstoke RFC for hosting the four matches at U15s and U18s, with the four counties all present.
Thanks to the Hampshire Referees Society also for providing the referees for all four games – what an advert for Girls and County rugby!
