Three products of the "Hampshire Way" took part in the annual varsity fixture between Leeds University and Leeds Beckett University, in front of a packed crowd of 14,272 at Headingly Stadium on Wednesday 7th October.
Leeds Becket came out 27-13 winners in a tense and nervous game played at a frantic pace with frequent interruptions, mainly from spectators who chose to ignore the £80 fine for running on the pitch!
Adam Greenslade, Luke Peters and Jack Ramshaw have been playing with or against each other, since the age of about 6 or 7.
Adam and Jack started their careers at Gosport and Fareham RFC, whilst Luke was at Portsmouth RFC.
All 3 represented Hampshire age group sides from U14-18, with Jack also gaining Divisional honours.
Luke and Jack also spent time with London Irish on the AASE scheme and then securing academy contracts before moving to Leeds Beckett University and working with Yorkshire Carnegie.
Luke also achieved further honours being selected for the England Students squad before suffering the injury that kept him out of the big varsity fixture.
Club Hampshire wishes the best of luck for all 3 and will follow their progress with interest.
