Hampshire's Joe Marchant scored a try and Joe Batley started for England Under 20s who got a hard-fought 19-14 win against Ireland in Dublin last Friday night and now top the Six Nations table writes Brian Seeney.

Marchant, formerly of Winchester RFC and now with Harlequins, scored in the second half whilst Batley (ex-Gosport & Fareham and now Gloucester Rugby) played for 52 minutes before being replaced.

Head Coach Jon Callard said: "I'm hugely proud of the lads – they put in an excellent performance and fully deserved the win. Ireland were physical and they were a constant threat throughout, but we showed real character and I'm delighted with the way we held firm and got the victory."
