Former Gosport & Fareham Mini/Youth player Joe Batley won the BMW Man of the Match Award helping England Under 18s beat Ireland 30-14 in the final of the FIRA/AER European Championship in Wronki, Poland, a match in which Hampshire's Joe Marchant also played

It is England's third consecutive title.

Back rower Batley now studies and plays at Hartpury College and is a member of Gloucester's Academy. He also featured for the England Under 19s this season. Joe's dad is the current Gosport & Fareham RFC Colts' Manager.

Marchant, who began his rugby career with Winchester and Peter Symonds College and is now with Harlequins, came on as a 35th minute replacement in the backs in the Final.

He also appeared as a replacement in England's narrow 18-17 win over France, a game which Batley started in Dunkirk in April.
