Berkshire U16 A's   5 - 25 Hampshire U16 A's

Tries: Bemelmans (2), Kirkham (2), Law

Berkshire U16 B's 24 -  5 Hampshire U16 B's

                                        Try: Hall

Fortunes were reversed this weekend for our U16 A & B squads against Berkshire U16's at Maidenhead RFC.

After an even start, and going 5-0 down, the A's hit a great vein of form and played some very fast and varied rugby to record an emphatic victory 5-25. The dominance of the Hampshire back row was highlighted with a brace of tries each for Jack Bemelmans (7) and Louie Kirkham (8), with a further try out wide by Josh Law midway through the 2nd half.

The B's came up against a very aggressive Berkshire U16 B team, intent on sucking in our forwards with powerful runs and getting the ball out wide to exploit the space. The B's found themselves 24 - 5 down at half time, with a single Try from Adam Hall to show for their efforts. The 2nd half was a different story and the boys showed tremendous spirit and resilience to compete toe to toe with Berks, negate their effective tactics of the 1st half and draw the half 0-0. Our B's were unlucky not to win that 2nd half, and it would have been no more than they deserved to have done so.

Congratulations to the Hampshire U16 'A' squad for a comprehensive victory and very well done to the 'B' squad for a tremendous fight-back and turnaround.

Next Matches v. Surrey U16 'A' & 'B' on Sun. 1st March @ Farnham RFC. Both matches to KO at 14.00.
