The Hampshire U17s travelled to Maidenhead on a wet Wednesday night to play Berkshire. On a good 4G pitch the Hampshire boys stepped up from the off and played superbly. We took a large squad to play 3x 25 minutes which worked really well. There were some great tries, with special mention to those scored by J.North and O.Burden, which were nicely converted by T.Knight Owen and S.Kay helping to keep Hampshire well ahead. This was maintained in a strong second third with tries by S.Kay and C. Wallbridge.
Throughout there were some great lines of running, intelligent passing, strong defending and brave tackling all contributing to a great display of rugby.
With plenty of positives to take from the game it was unfortunate that we lost Adam Coe for the season. The influential back rower has been an important player for us and we wish him a speedy recovery from a broken collarbone.
Hampshire 31 - 5 Berkshire
Tries : O.Burden ( 2 ) J.North S.Kay C Wallbridge
