1.  Age Grade Rugby Review Roadshow:     

                                             

Last week England Rugby reminded the game that changes to Age Grade Rugby are cominginfrom September 2016.

 

 

England Rugby will commence a national Age Grade Rugby Roadshow starting in Mid-February and will be coming to  Hampshire on Tuesday 23rd February  at Eastleigh RFC (Bishopstoke Rd, Eastleigh SO50 6LA). 

 

The evening will commence at 1900 and finish at 2100.

 

 The evening is open toclubs, schools, colleges and will provide key information on the key changes and practical advice on how to implement these.

3.       RFU Presidents Award for Club Volunteers:

This team of volunteers will have used all formats to keep players enjoying rugby.

 

The team of volunteers receiving this award will have worked creatively to recruit new players from different backgrounds.

 

We are inviting nominations of exceptional and inspirational volunteers in the following categories:

 

These volunteers will have developed fantastic facilities to transform their club environment for everyone who visits.

 

The winners of this award will be a volunteer team using effective and efficient club management and development, modernising the running of their club.

 

The award winners will have forged links with schools, colleges, universities, businesses, community groups and/or people that traditionally have had little contact with the game.

 

 

                   PRESIDENT’S CATEGORY-‘Try For Change’ This award will go to the person or people who have used the game as a vehicle for social change.  

                  The winner or winners will have used rugby to transform lives or communities.

 

        4       Research: Player Burn Out / Motivational Factors;

 

            A very useful and interesting rugby research project on ‘Player Burn Out / Motivational Factors’ is being conducted by Tim Lander and  Southampton Solent University.

 

            Please see Parent info sheet.                

                        

           The research is targeted at children playing rugby in the U13-U16 squads at all levels of the game; school, club, county and London Irish Academy.        

 

           To make this investigation as informative as possible Tim Lander is keen to get as many children playing to participate in this research project.

 

           Please ask your children to complete the on line survey that should only take 10-15 minutes. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/juniorrugbymotivation

 

 As an incentive, all participants who complete the online survey will be entered in to a draw to receive a pair of tickets to watch an England match at Twickenham.

5.     Wooden Spoon Guildford Cathedral Abseil;

 

Date: Saturday 19thMarch 2016; Time: Anytime between 9.30am to 3.30pm. Registration opens at 9.00am.

 

 As it is an individual challenge, the duration a person takes to complete climbing the 249 steps to the top of the cathedral and abseil 160 feet down will be varied.

 

 Price: Registration £50 and fundraising requirement is £200.
