2.       Coach Licensing:

Background:

·         RFU Coach Licensing has been a national scheme since 2012, with around 15,000 coaches engaged.

·          In order to maintain their licence beyond the 3 year period of their licence, a coach must attend 3 CPD events over the 3 year period, and have that attendance recorded on GMS. On attending the minimum of 3 CPD events, the licence is renewed automatically.

·         Licences are granted following:

o   Level 1, 2 or 3 UKCC coaching courses

o   Teacher’s licences are granted following attendance at Rugby Union in Secondary Schools and licensed external providers (currently only one course from Independent Coach Education)

·         Record of attendance on GMS at these automatically triggers a licence.
